What to do

Choose one of these questions and write a task 1 letter. Give the letter to you teacher and he or she will check it. Otherwise, email it to Drew and he can give it to your teacher.

Question 1

Last year you had a holiday overseas where you stayed with some friends. They have sent you some photographs of your holiday.
Write a letter to your friends. In your letter:

  • thank them for sending you the photographs
  • tell them about your favourite memories from the holiday.
  • invite them to come and stay with you

Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any address.
Begin your letter as follows:

Question 2

You recently stayed in a hotel. The hotel was very bad, and there were many problems that you are angry about.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:

  • give details of what was bad in the hotel
  • explain how the hotel could fix the problems
  • say what you want the manager to do

You should write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write your own address.
Begin your letter as follows:

Question 3

A friend of yours wants to travel to your country for a two-week holiday. They want to know what there is for them to do and where they should stay. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter,

  • offer to help them find somewhere to stay
  • tell them what they can do
  • give information about what clothes to bring

You do NOT need to write any address.

Question 4

Your bank was supposed to send you a new credit-card, but when the letter arrived, it was empty and the card was not inside.
Write a letter to the bank’s head office. In your letter:

  • explain why you are writing
  • say why you are worried about the missing card
  • ask them what they are going to do

Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any address.
